More Onvitamin & Antioxidant Supplents !

Studies have shown that eating foods that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants lower the chances of heart and blood vessel diseases; but what about supplements. A large meta-analysis involving over 300,000 patients was reported in the website of the British Medical Journal (http://dx.doi.org/10.1136/bmj.f10) This study showed no benefit of supplemental vitamins and antioxidants in preventing death from heart attacks, strokes, sudden cardiac death or transient ischemic attacks (TIA’s). The study showed that these findings were not affected by type of vitamins, antioxidants, duration of supplement use or whether they were taken singly or in combination. So, once again, one must conclude, it best to get your nutrients from food rather than supplements; for better health!
