Bridging The Sisterhood: New Hope’s Women’s Ministry Builds Bonds Across Ages

On July 19, 2025, the Women’s Ministry team of New Hope SDA presented a transformative event titled “Bridging the Sisterhood.” Building on the momentum of their April 2025 Annual Women’s Prayer Breakfast—where women of all ages shared personal stories and highlighted the need for intergenerational collaboration—the “Bridging the Sisterhood” event aimed to foster unity among females across ages. Ministry leader Maureen Thomas views these events as steps toward a vision where women of all ages support each other, thrive in Christ’s love, and experience community joy.

Approximately 60 ladies, ages 11 to 81, gathered at the elegant Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia. Hosted by the poised April Smith, Women’s Ministry Director of the South Atlantic Conference, the event encouraged vulnerability and openness through shared experiences. The result was a space of honesty, healing, and growth. Laughter mingled with deep sentiments as meaningful connections were rekindled, marking a new beginning for New Hope.

To capitalize on the energy, consideration is being given to engaging in more social events, small groups, and one-on-one connections where women can interconnect to achieve their goals and support each other. In a crowded world where it’s easy to feel alone, it’s reassuring that because of this event, women of all ages will interact and find the support they need from each other without inhibitions or fears.

As New Hope SDA’s Women’s Ministry looks ahead, the “Bridging the Sisterhood” event stands as a testament to the power of intergenerational connections and shared faith. With a renewed sense of community and purpose, women of all ages are committed to understanding each other, deepening relationships, and living out Christ’s love.
